Amal Jawan is a dedicated school director at Quba Preschool & Elementary School, where she ensures a safe and enriching Islamic learning environment. She oversees staff, policies, operations, and procedures, upholding high academic performance and behavior standards. With fifteen years of teaching experience, Amal previously served as a Lead Teacher at ADAMS Radiant Hearts Academy, contributing to an innovative curriculum and providing training in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) integrated with Islamic education. She holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Education and Leadership from Bayan Islamic Graduate School and a Bachelor’s in Islamic History from Yarmouk University. Amal resides in Burk, VA, with her family.

Miss Farah Bhatti has been a dedicated educator at Quba Center since September 2019, with over 8 years of experience in early childhood education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Home Economics from Punjab University, Pakistan, and has nurtured young minds since 2014. Miss Farah’s passion for working with children shines through as she appreciates their creativity and guides them on their learning journey. She prioritizes student safety and is certified in first aid and CPR. Outside of work, she treasures spending time with loved ones. With her experience, love for children, and commitment to their well-being, Miss Farah positively impacts the lives of young learners at Quba Center.

Fizza Javed is an experienced and passionate educator with a Master’s in Economics. With six years of teaching experience in an international school and Montessori certification, she prioritizes child-centered education and stays updated with effective teaching methodologies through professional development. Fizza’s enthusiasm, creativity, and ability to connect with children create a positive learning environment. She is dedicated to empowering students with the necessary academic and personal success tools.

Heba Abdelreheem is an experienced individual with a B.A. degree in Engineering. She is passionate about education and nurturing young minds. As a homeschooling mom in 2020-2021, she developed skills in organization and personalized instruction. In 2022, she became a Pre-K assistant teacher at Quba, where she found a friendly and spiritual environment that matched her values. Heba enjoys sewing, cooking, and making friends and deeply understands child development as a proud mother of two children. Her dedication to creating a positive learning atmosphere makes her an invaluable member of the Quba community.

Mrs. Huma Ahmed is a Pre-K teacher at Quba Preschool. Born and raised in Canada, she has been part of the NOVA community since 2003. She has had vast experience with children in Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten for the past 10 years. She joined Quba Preschool in its pilot year in 2019. With a major in Health and Sciences, Mrs. Huma has a certificate in Early Childhood Education and is pursuing further education in the field. Happily married with four children, she has been a Girl Scout leader for the past several years, making sure to be a part of the community in various ways. She believes that a strong community is essential to the growth of children and is blessed to be a part of Quba Center’s family.


Miss Alaa El Ridi is an experienced educator specializing in teaching Arabic and Quran. With three years of international kindergarten experience in Egypt, she brings valuable knowledge to her role at Quba Center. She holds a BA in Art and has obtained an Ijaza in Qa’eda Norania. As an assistant teacher, she teaches Arabic and Quran to preschool and pre-K students. Miss Alaa is passionate about continuous learning and is dedicated to providing high-quality Quran education, enriching children’s journey as the future.

Miss Laamia Khatib has been serving as Quba Center’s Kindergarten teacher since 2021. She is part of a transnational, trilingual family and the 4th child of 6! She moved to the U.S. in 2006 after attending elementary school at the International Islamic School of Malaysia. She attended public middle and high school and completed all higher education and teacher training at Virginia Tech.This is her 12th year working in an early childhood setting, and she thrives in Early Childhood Education because she believes each child is absolutely brilliant. They continue to teach her so much about herself and the world we live in. Her educational philosophy is leading children to the threshold of their inherently brilliant minds through teaching foundational Islamic knowledge and educational skills such as reading, writing, and building interpersonal problem-solving skills through play and S.T. E.M.
